Oneplus Nord - Review

Story behind Oneplus Nord:

Oneplus has entered the smartphone industry with an impeccable strategy of flagships features in reasonable price range to compete with big brands like Samsung and Apple. Oneplus has majorly succeeded with the aim. Now everyone know Oneplus has crossed the budget range and settled in Ultimate flagship range. Oneplus now planned to not leave their fans who seeks great features in budget, with this, they have launched Oneplus Nord. Welcome to the full review of Oneplus Nord and know whether Oneplus has succeeded with the new strategy or not.

I decided not to divide with pros and cons instead I’ll give you my final verdict on this smartphone.

Design:

Similar to other Oneplus devices, Oneplus Nord comes with a 6.44 inch full HD+ fluid amoled display coupled with 90hz refresh rate. It comes with 20:9 aspect ratio, so the viewing experience would be at its best. Body of the smartphone has glass body and is used corning gorilla glass 5 both front and back, but polycarbonate( plastic) to the frames. It also consists oneplus alert slider just like other oneplus mobiles.

Performance:

Oneplus has used Qualcomm’s snapdragon 765G chipset which supports 5G. Though the 5G spectrum has not arrived India yet, its just a cherry piece on a cake. Coming to the performance 765G chipset is a midrange processor with Adreno 620 GPU, max speed of 2.4GHz in CPU. Day to day performance will be great. It can handle games a bit above medium graphics. One should not expect ultra level gaming performance with this handset. There’s absolutely no issues in medium settings in heavy games like PUBG and CODM.

Cameras:

Oneplus claims that Nord has borrowed the primary camera from its brother or cousin(whatever) Oneplus 8 that is 48MP Sony IMX 586(f/1.75),it supports both OIS and EIS, it can capture upto 4k 30fps in video department. Secondary cam is 8MP ultrawide angle lens(f/2.25) and 5mp depth and 2MP macro lens. It have a dual punch hole, capsuled shaped camera system with a 32MP(f/2.45) primary camera and 8MP wideangle lens. Front cameras do decent job both in daylight and night times. Coming to back main camera, though it has a flagship sensor from Oneplus 8, it could not do justice as Oneplus 8 cam did. Overall camera performance is decent but definitely not worth the hype.

Battery:

Its has 4115mAh battery, with a 30W dart charging support just like 8 series. SOT is around 5-6 hours. One can get a full day battery life easily. No issue in it.

OS:

It comes with Android 10 out of the box, One of the main reason to get Oneplus device is Oxygen OS because of fluidish, ad free experience. and pretty less bloatware.

Though Nord has faced many issues before the launch itself like Tint screen and bad low light cam performance and heating issues. They are mostly solved with an OTA update and the no of sales will show how much Oneplus has succeeded with its new strategy. But we can definitely accept this is a good move from a Reputated brand.

Final Verdict:
If you really in love with Oxygen OS but couldn’t spend much for the flagship Oneplus devices, if you don’t play games so much. You can own Oneplus Nord without looking Back( pretty much you could ask for)

If you are sort of Value for money guy and you don’t really care about Brand, you can look at its close competitor’s Realme X2Pro and Redmi K20 pro which brings better specifications and great value for money.
